Why we have affiliate links

Producing independent reviews of AI therapy tools requires careful evaluation against published research, source verification, and ongoing re-verification of pricing and features. Affiliate commissions help fund this work. We chose this model over advertising because it aligns our revenue with tools readers actually find useful — not with whoever bids highest on an ad placement.

Platforms we cover without a commission

The following platforms are reviewed and covered editorially with no affiliate relationship: Youper, Replika, MindDoc, Talkiatry, Blueprint, Lyssn, Elomia, Woebot. They receive the same depth of coverage as affiliate partners.

How we identify affiliate links

Affiliate and sponsored links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML, consistent with Google’s guidelines for paid links. On-page disclosures appear above the fold on every page containing affiliate links, typically as an orange-bordered disclosure box.

Editorial independence policy

Commission amounts are never a factor in our ranking methodology. Rankings are based on clinical evidence quality, features, pricing, user ratings, and safety/compliance criteria. See our Methodology.
We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or any payment in exchange for editorial content.
We do not allow vendors to preview or edit reviews before publication.
If a platform becomes an affiliate partner after we publish a review, the disclosure is added immediately — the review content is not changed.
If our view of a platform changes due to new evidence, we update the review — regardless of whether we earn a commission from that platform.
Any clinical reviewer we engage will declare financial relationships with reviewed platforms, and reviewers with undisclosed relationships will not review those tools.

Link methodology

Affiliate links on this site use UTM parameters (utm_source=bestaitherapy, utm_medium=affiliate) for analytics attribution. Affiliate click events are also tracked in Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-QBWHXTN1VT) to allow us to report commission-earning traffic accurately. No personal identifiers are transmitted in these tracking events.

Non-affiliate outbound links use utm_medium=referral to distinguish them from affiliate traffic in our analytics.

Privacy and affiliate networks

When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network (Refersion for Wysa, Impact for Freed) may set tracking cookies in your browser to attribute the referral. See our Cookie Policy for details and opt-out options.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 CFR Part 255. It is also consistent with the UK’s CAP Code (sections 2 and 3) and the EU’s Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC), as implemented in Cyprus.
